Google Tool Scans Search Results for Private Information

As a privacy enthusiast, I've been exploring Google's tools to help protect personal data. One feature that flew under my radar was Results About You, which enables Google to scan for private information in search results.

The type of information monitored includes phone numbers, email addresses, and home addresses. Google also checks for ID and Social Security numbers, but the availability of this field depends on your region.

To set up Results About You, open the Google app, tap your profile icon, and select Results about you. Alternatively, visit the Results About You website. Provide Google with the information you want to monitor, which is encrypted for testing and improving the monitoring system.

After adding my home address, phone number, and three email addresses, I received no notifications during the initial scan. However, this tool will continue to run periodic scans to see if anything pops up.
