Google Turns Documents into AI Video Summaries with New 'Docs to Video' Feature
Google has introduced a new feature in its Google Vids platform that allows users to turn documents into AI-generated video summaries. The feature, called 'Docs to Video,' is currently available only to subscribers of Google's AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra plans, as well as users subscribed to Business, Enterprise, and Education plans.
The process involves importing a document from Google Drive or the user's computer, after which AI analyzes the content and generates text summarizing key points. The user can then review and edit the script before adding voiceover narration and visuals. The final video is assembled by Google Vids using AI-generated images and backgrounds.
While the feature has shown promise, it is not yet fully stable, with users experiencing errors during testing. The rollout of 'Docs to Video' began on September 5, 2026, with a completion date expected within two weeks.
