Google Turns Social Assets Into Automated YouTube Ads
Google has introduced Asset Studio, a tool that turns existing social assets into YouTube ads. According to an Ads Decoded episode, this marks a shift in workflow for advertisers who can now use their social content as raw material for automated advertising systems.
In the episode, Ginny Marvin, Google's Ads Product Liaison, speaks with Alejandro Osio, a product manager for Demand Gen and YouTube performance ads. They explain that existing social assets can be used to create videos for YouTube campaigns using Asset Studio's multimodal video creation tool.
The tool uses website URLs and photos to produce videos and allows stakeholders to preview those videos before publication. This is not just an image-to-video generator, but also a way to speed up the internal review process by giving teams something concrete to assess.
Google advises advertisers to make changes gradually and focus on the quality of new assets rather than increasing quantity. The system needs time to measure what each variation is doing, making creative testing like managing a controlled learning process.
