Google has made its new Gemini 4 Argon model available to cybersecurity experts through its Fairwind Program, following OpenAI's release of GPT-6.1 on Tuesday.

Gemini 4 Argon is a frontier model built for deep reasoning across complex workflows, and Google claims it outperforms other models from OpenAI and Anthropic in various benchmarks.

The model was announced alongside the news that OpenAI had scrapped its GPT-6.1 Astra release due to safety concerns.

Koray Kavukcuoglu, SVP of Google DeepMind and Chief AI Architect, explained that the new model is 'fundamentally changing the way we work and build at Google' and delivers frontier performance in complex workflows across various activities.
