Google Unveils Pixel Phones with Slimmer Cameras and Enhanced AI Features
Google unveiled its latest lineup of Pixel phones on Wednesday, featuring slimmer cameras and more AI features. The new models include a powerful zoom, improved light sensitivity, and instant night sight capabilities for capturing shots in dark environments. For the first time, Google has also introduced a tracking device called Pixel Tag, compatible with Android 9 or higher.
The Pixel phones have been steadily increasing their AI capabilities since 2023, and the new models double the previous storage size, starting at 256 gigabytes. The prices for the new models are $900, $1,100, and $1,300 for the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL respectively.
Forrester senior analyst Andrew Cornwall noted that Google continues to tout new software features, primarily around AI, as the reason to upgrade. The new models also include live translation for videos, podcasts, and voice messages, as well as a feature called HiLight that lets users assign a color to their favorite contacts.
