Google Updates Hreflang Documentation with Uppercase Codes

Google has made an update to its help documentation for localized versions of pages, changing all hreflang examples from lowercase codes to uppercase codes.

This change doesn't have any practical impact on how hreflang works, as Google confirms that the value is case-insensitive and accepts both lowercase and uppercase codes.

The company explained the reasoning behind the switch in a new line added to its documentation, stating that using uppercase for region codes follows the ISO 3166-1 Alpha 2 convention.
