Google Updates Pixel VIPs Widget with Simplified Contact Management

Google has updated its Pixel VIPs widget to make it even more useful for Pixel owners. The feature, which was introduced in June 2025, brings together key details about chosen contacts into one place.

Setting up Pixel VIPs is a straightforward process that involves selecting the contacts you want to add and granting the necessary permissions. Once set up, the widget allows users to access their VIPs with just a few taps, view recent calls and messages in one place, and receive notifications that can get through Do Not Disturb.

The updated Pixel VIPs also includes new features such as a full-screen display of each contact's page, which shows important details like local updates and last connections. The feature has been praised for its simplicity and usefulness, with some users noting that it fills the gap left by Samsung's lackluster People Edge panel.

Pixel VIPs is available on Google Pixel 6 and newer devices, and requires access to view and send text messages, see recent WhatsApp calls and messages, and use the phone's location. Users can decline any of these permissions, but it will affect the feature's functionality.
