Google Wallet’s Card Redesign Expands to More Users
Google is expanding the rollout of its redesigned Google Wallet card interface to more users. The new layout, which was previously limited to a small group of testers, has now started appearing on Pixel phones used by members of the Android Authority team. This suggests that Google is moving beyond the initial restricted rollout.
The most notable change in the redesign is how payment cards are displayed. Instead of the current horizontal carousel that requires swiping to navigate through saved debit and credit cards, the new interface stacks them vertically. This makes it easier for users to see and select the card they want without repeatedly swiping through the carousel.
The redesign also maintains a clean main Wallet screen. The stacked card interface opens separately, ensuring that other Wallet items such as transit cards, loyalty cards, and passes remain accessible from the main screen. This approach keeps the interface uncluttered while improving usability.
The broader rollout of the redesigned Google Wallet card interface indicates that Google is steadily introducing this update to a larger user base. The initial limited availability suggested a cautious approach, but its appearance on more devices now points to a wider deployment.
