Googlebook Launch Boosts Alphabet Stock by 2%
Alphabet's stock price rose by approximately 2% on Monday following the launch of Googlebook, a premium laptop line that integrates Gemini AI capabilities. The new laptops start at $899 and are available for pre-order from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo.
The devices feature enhanced Android connectivity and come with specialized AI processing components, delivering over 45 TOPS performance. Key features include Magic Pointer, which allows users to query Gemini for assistance without manually transferring content, as well as document composition and contextual inquiries about on-screen information.
Googlebook is designed to complement the Chromebook lineup, which targets educational institutions, enterprise clients, and budget-conscious consumers. The launch represents a renewed push by Google into the premium laptop segment following earlier efforts with the Pixelbook in 2017 and Pixelbook Go in 2019.
