Google's AI Chief Jeff Dean Seeks $10 Billion Valuation for New Startup
Jeff Dean, former head of artificial intelligence at Google, has been in talks for $1 billion in financing at a valuation of around $10 billion for his new AI startup, Discovery Loop. The company aims to automate machine learning, science, and engineering to accelerate discoveries and progress.
Dean's team is comprised of experienced researchers who have worked on some of Google's most important products, including Google Search, Ads, Gemini, and Gmail. They plan to tackle the hardest problems in science and engineering by parallelizing experiments.
This latest example of Google talent leaving the company to raise huge sums for new AI startups follows others such as David Silver, who raised $1.1 billion at a $5.1 billion valuation for Ineffable Intelligence.
