Google's Experimental App, Dreambeans, Now Free for All to Try

Google has made its experimental app, Dreambeans, free to use for everyone. The app uses Personal Intelligence to curate stories based on a user's interests, which are determined by analyzing data from Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Photos, YouTube, and search history. Unlike Google News, which aggregates content from various sources, Dreambeans focuses on individualized content that is tailored to each user's preferences.

The app was previously locked behind a paywall for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, but it is now available for anyone to try. According to Google, the app does not aim to be a news aggregator like Google News, but rather a tool to help users discover new stories and topics they might be interested in.

The company emphasizes that the app uses permission-based data collection and does not intend to replace traditional news consumption with endless scrolling. Instead, it aims to provide a finite set of curated stories that allow users to focus on what matters most to them.
