Google's Fitbit Edge Could Offer a Mid-Range Wearable Option
Google is reportedly gearing up to launch the Fitbit Edge, a new wearable that could bridge the gap between the Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch. Unlike the screenless Fitbit Air, the Edge is expected to feature a small oval-shaped display for health stats and basic controls. The device is said to offer up to seven days of battery life and support for both Android phones and iPhones.
According to leaks from Android Headlines, the Fitbit Edge will include a sensor array on the back, similar to the Fitbit Air, but may include additional sensors for tracking more health metrics. The tracker is shown in three colors: Obsidian, Olive, and Canyon, which resemble the finishes of the Pixel 11 Pro series.
The Fitbit Edge is expected to provide some smartwatch-like functionality, including notifications and features from apps like Google Maps and YouTube Music. It will also support Find My Phone. Google is likely to position the Fitbit Edge as a mid-range option between the $99 Fitbit Air and the more expensive Pixel Watch 5, with an estimated price range of $149 to $199.
The launch of the Fitbit Edge is reportedly set for later this month, so more details should emerge soon.
