Google's Look up App Brings Contextual Info to Googlebooks Devices

Google has released a new 'Look up' app for Googlebooks, which allows users to highlight text and access related information in a floating window. The app is currently available on phones but will likely be restricted to desktops soon.

The Look up app provides a conversational experience, with a field at the bottom allowing users to ask follow-up questions. It uses publicly available information from Google services such as Search, Maps, and Flights to provide responses in a helpful format.

The app is analogous to a feature on macOS called 'Look Up', which appears when you right-click on text. Googlebooks is a device that combines the functionality of a laptop with the portability of a tablet.
