Google's Pixel Watch 5 Curry Edition Hints at Lifestyle Credibility Push Against Apple
Google is set to launch a limited-edition Pixel Watch 5 Curry Edition at its Made by Google event on August 12. The special edition watch features a custom woven band in stone grey and orange, which carries the '#LockIn' branding and Stephen Curry's name. This isn't the first collaboration between Google and Curry - they previously launched the Fitbit Air Special Edition tracker in May 2026.
The standard Pixel Watch 5 costs $399, but the Curry edition will cost roughly $429-$449 due to the exclusive band and limited-edition branding. The watch itself has identical specs to the standard model, with a Qualcomm W5 Gen 1 chipset, 3GB RAM, and 64GB storage.
Google's strategy in partnering with Curry is to build lifestyle credibility against Apple. By introducing high-end brand partnerships early on, Google aims to compete with Apple's luxury positioning without relying solely on hardware upgrades.
