Google's Texas AI Campus Connects to 531 MW Wind Power

Google's Texas AI campus in Armstrong County is taking shape, according to Crusoe, which is developing the site. The data center campus has direct connections to two neighboring wind farms totaling 531 megawatts of generating capacity.

The construction near Amarillo began in June 2025 and involves over 5,500 workers daily. Serena's Goodnight 1 wind farm is operational, while Goodnight 2 remains under construction. Excess wind generation will flow to the grid.

This project adds details to Google's $40 billion Texas investment plan through 2027. The plan includes cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure, including campuses in Armstrong and Haskell counties. However, no separate investment figure was assigned to the Armstrong site in the initial announcement.
