Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster Swaps Rock for Holiday Hits

Walt Disney World’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride at EPCOT is introducing a holiday twist for the 2026 season. From November 25, 2026, to January 12, 2027, riders will hear one of three seasonal songs instead of the usual six-song classic rock playlist. The holiday tracks include “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Andy Williams, “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24” by Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and “Christmas Wrapping” by The Waitresses. This marks a change from previous years, where a single holiday medley was played.

The new approach offers three distinct songs, potentially encouraging repeat rides to hear all of them. However, it remains unclear how the songs will be selected, whether randomly, on a rotation, or another method. The ride’s pre-show has also undergone a subtle change, removing a pause that previously allowed guests to shout out responses, a move that has sparked mixed reactions online.

Some fans welcome the change, citing past incidents where guests made inappropriate or disruptive comments. Others argue that the removal of the pause won’t stop disruptive behavior and may even confuse riders further. The holiday overlay coincides with some of the busiest days of the year, so visitors may need to plan carefully to experience all three songs.

The ride, which opened in 2022, remains one of EPCOT’s most popular attractions, often featuring long wait times. With the holiday season approaching, guests are encouraged to check wait times and Lightning Lane options through the My Disney Experience app to optimize their visit.
