Hamilton Island Race Week Tightens as Strong Trade Winds Deliver Challenging Conditions
Hamilton Island Race Week presented by American Express continued on its third day of racing on August 17, with over 1,200 sailors competing in demanding Whitsundays conditions.
The strong trade winds that built from yesterday delivered a challenging day on the water, with several divisions tightening and leading boats separated by mere seconds or handfuls of points.
In Multihull Racing, Miyu secured victories on both EHC and OMR handicaps to move into overall lead. According to Robinson, 'It was pretty strong out there today and sailing into it was tough, but the boat handled the conditions really well.'
Robinson attributed their success to the team's preparation, having competed in several regattas and ocean races this year.
