Home Depot Canada Leads Charge Against Youth Homelessness in Muskoka

The Home Depot Canada brought together government and community leaders to address youth homelessness in Bracebridge, Muskoka. The event highlighted partnerships that create brighter futures for young people in the region.

MPP Graydon Smith, Ontario's Associate Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, MP Scott Aitchison, Shadow Minister for Housing, and representatives from Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions and Community Builders attended the meeting.

The Home Depot Canada team toured Community Builders' warehouse training facility, where youth gain hands-on experience in construction and skilled trades. The company showcased its community partnerships, local fundraising efforts, and associate volunteerism to support youth at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

The Home Depot Canada Foundation has committed $125 million by 2030 to help prevent and end youth homelessness through investments in housing, wrap-around supports, and employment readiness programs. The Orange Door Project campaign raised over $7,400 for Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions this spring, with funds remaining local to support the organization's services.
