Home Depot Sales Rise 5.7%, Expands Express Delivery Nationwide
The Home Depot has reported second-quarter results that exceeded Wall Street expectations. The company's sales rose 5.7% to $47.9 billion, driven by broad-based demand from customers undertaking smaller projects. Net earnings totaled $4.8 billion, or $4.79 per diluted share, compared with $4.6 billion, or $4.58 per share, in the same period last year.
As part of its growth strategy, Home Depot is expanding its Express Delivery service nationwide, using over 2,000 U.S. stores as neighborhood fulfillment hubs. The service provides delivery in three hours or less on thousands of products for a flat fee, without requiring a subscription or membership.
The retailer's investments in faster fulfillment are driving customer engagement, with Pro sales posting positive comparable sales during the quarter and outperforming DIY sales. Home Depot reaffirmed its fiscal 2026 outlook, calling for total sales growth of approximately 2.5% to 4.5% and comparable sales ranging from flat to 2% growth.
Home Depot expects to open approximately 15 new stores during the year and projects diluted earnings per share to range from approximately flat to 4% growth compared with fiscal 2025.
