Home Depot Sees Lift in Sales from Smaller Projects Amid Slumping Housing Market
Home Depot's second-quarter sales improved as customers focused on smaller projects during the summer months.
The retailer reported revenue of $47.86 billion, exceeding Wall Street's expectations of $47.24 billion.
Globally, comparable store sales rose 1.7%, while in the U.S., they increased by 1.3%.
Customer transactions fell 1%, but customers spent more per transaction, with an average receipt value of $92.50 compared to $90.01 last year.
