Home Depot Set to Release Q2 Earnings Amid Expectations of Revenue Growth
The Home Depot is set to release its second-quarter fiscal 2026 earnings on August 18, before market open. Analysts expect a year-over-year increase in revenue for the quarter, with a consensus estimate of $47.5 billion, representing a growth of 4.9% from the previous year's actual figure.
The company's earnings per share (EPS) are also expected to grow by 0.6%, reaching $4.71, according to the Zacks Consensus Estimate. The Atlanta-based retailer has consistently delivered positive earnings surprises in its last four quarters, with an average surprise of 1.6%. However, underlying demand remains constrained due to elevated mortgage rates and weak housing turnover.
Management expects a year-over-year gross-margin pressure, although at a smaller magnitude than the previous quarter's 75-basis-point decline. Higher fuel, commodity, and tariff-related costs are likely to have added pressure on margins. The company's shares have gained 14.9% in the past three months, outperforming its peers.
