Sherwin-Williams' Fall Trend Forecast highlights a growing 'reconnect' mindset among homeowners.

As people spend more time indoors this fall, they're creating spaces that promote social interaction and shared activities.

The company's color experts, Lisbeth Parada of Dutch Boy Paints, Krylon, and Minwax, and Sue Kim of Cabot, identify four ways homeowners are fostering connection in their homes.

One approach is to update furnishings and decor with smaller projects like painting game caddies or lamp bases. This can make a room feel more social and personal.

Another way is to create spaces inspired by real-life activities, such as defining a game corner or hobby zone without doing a complete room makeover.

The focus is on creating a backdrop that helps an underused area feel intentional and connected to the household routine.

Sherwin-Williams' experts also suggest updating entryways, mudrooms, and other transition spaces with practical anchors for everyday routines.

Lastly, they recommend creating welcoming outdoor spaces with warm, earthy shades inspired by aged wood.
