Honeywell Breaks Up into Three Separate Companies: Which One Will Rise?
Honeywell has broken up into three separate companies: Honeywell Technologies (HON +0.95%), Solstice Advanced Materials (SOLS +3.85%), and Honeywell Aerospace (HONA +3.90%).
The conglomerate's split is a trend that recurs in the business world, where large companies break up into smaller ones to improve results and focus on individual areas.
Honeywell Technologies, the company retaining the HON ticker, is now a pure-play industrial automation business. Its CEO, Vimal Kapur, has led this decision and seems to believe that automation will be an important trend in industry due to artificial intelligence (AI) advancements.
The second-quarter 2026 earnings report showed that Honeywell Automation saw orders rise by 16%, while the combined businesses experienced a 4% increase. The company's backlog also grew, with $20 billion of its $38 billion total coming from automation alone.
