Kobayashi Consumer Products has issued a voluntary recall of approximately 77,000 HotHands Rechargeable Hand Warmers due to a potential fire hazard. The hand warmers were sold at major retailers such as Target and Home Depot between July 2025 and August 2026 for $30 to $40.

The lithium-ion battery and electrical components in the recalled hand warmers can overheat and ignite, posing a risk of serious injury from fires and burn hazards. No incidents or injuries have been reported, but owners are advised to stop using the product immediately and contact Kobayashi for a full refund.

Consumers who purchased online can check their past orders to confirm the purchase date, and Kobayashi's claim process requires a photo of the receipt when available. The company has also warned against throwing the recalled device in the trash or recycling bin, as lithium-ion batteries pose a risk even after use.
