HP and Google Expand Availability of HP Dimension with Google Beam
HP and Google have expanded the availability of HP Dimension with Google Beam to customers in several countries, marking a significant milestone for this new communication technology. This technology is designed to make remote conversations feel more natural, engaging, and human.
According to HP, the goal of this technology is to give organizations an alternative to traditional video calls when distance can be a hindrance. Bain and Company, an early pilot customer, has already seen benefits from using HP Dimension with Google Beam for candidate recruitment calls. The company reported that interviewers felt more confident in assessing talent, thanks to the subtle nuances of body language and eye contact enabled by 3D presence.
Google's researchers observed a significant increase in nonverbal behavior during conversations using HP Dimension with Google Beam, with 39% more hand gestures, head nods, and eyebrow movements compared to traditional video calls. This suggests that a greater sense of presence can influence how naturally people interact and what they take away from a conversation.
