Huang Dismisses AI Apocalypse Fears, Sees $5.3 Trillion Market Opportunity
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has dismissed concerns that artificial intelligence could destroy humanity, stating that the probability of this occurring is '0%'. He believes there's no basis for slowing down AI development due to risk scenarios. Instead, he advocates for holding companies accountable under existing legal frameworks and ensuring products are safe before release.
Huang also opposed creating a separate regulatory framework specifically for AI, saying existing US laws can already hold companies responsible. He emphasized that the process of building a new regulatory regime should not weaken corporate responsibility under current law.
Nvidia's market capitalization has risen to about $5.3 trillion due to growing demand for AI semiconductors. Huang believes the speed of AI adoption is directly tied to the company's growth, but also stressed that safe products and services are necessary for long-term expansion.
