IBM and USTA Bring AI-Powered Fan Experiences to 2026 US Open
IBM and the United States Tennis Association (USTA) have collaborated to introduce new AI-powered fan experiences for the 2026 US Open. The innovations are designed to help fans cut through the noise, stay closer to the action, and experience the tournament in a more personalized way.
The partnership has brought some of the most advanced digital experiences in sports to over 14 million global tennis fans annually since 1992. This year's tournament comes at a time when audience demand for AI-powered features is gaining momentum, with 91% of global tennis fans surveyed using sports apps during events and having high trust (64%) in AI-powered sports content.
At the heart of this year's experience is the Live Updates homepage, which allows fans to prioritize their favorite players and quickly zero in on the matches, insights, and stories they care about most. A new Serve Quality metric puts a whole new spin on how fans watch serves, using advanced limb-tracking technology to analyze the precise mechanics of every serve.
