IBM and Yotta Launch Sovereign Agentic AI Platform in General Availability

IBM and Yotta Data Services have made their Sovereign Agentic AI Platform generally available to Indian organisations, expanding on an announcement from May 2026. The platform combines IBM's enterprise AI software with Yotta's India-based cloud infrastructure, providing a locally hosted environment for developing, operating and governing AI agents.

The service is built around IBM Watsonx Orchestrate, which acts as the control plane for deploying and managing enterprise agents, and Yotta's Shakti Cloud. The latter provides the compute, graphics-processing infrastructure, networking, security, and operating environment required to run AI workloads.

Sandip Patel, managing director of IBM India and South Asia, said evolving regulation, digital sovereignty, and the use of open-source models are becoming central considerations as organisations scale AI. Sunil Gupta, co-founder, managing director, and chief executive of Yotta Data Services, described the offering as an end-to-end sovereign stack covering infrastructure, models, inference, enterprise agents, and compliance.

The platform gives IBM a route to deliver its orchestration and governance technology on an Indian AI-cloud provider, while broadening Yotta's enterprise offering beyond computing capacity. It also places Shakti Studio and Shakti Cloud within a unified deployment environment, covering model selection, infrastructure provisioning, agent execution, and governance.
