IBM Brings Agentic AI to Corporate Infrastructure
IBM has released an AI-based software development platform called IBM Bob that can run directly on corporate infrastructure. This allows companies to use agentic AI for software development and modernization while keeping sensitive code and data in-house.
The self-hosted deployment version of IBM Bob enables the use of AI in environments controlled by corporations, without moving sensitive source code and regulated data to external AI services.
Corporations can operate IBM Bob in on-premises environments isolated from external networks, or connect to external model services that support IBM Bob. This shift is driven by growing demands for AI sovereignty, with Futurum Research projecting hybrid and edge deployments will account for 44% of the AI infrastructure market by 2030.
Neal Sundaresan, general manager of IBM AI and Automation, said 'The future of enterprise AI depends on security, governance, and sovereignty.'
