IBM CEO Sees Quantum Computing Boom Within Five Years
IBM's CEO Arvind Krishna is optimistic about the growth of quantum computing. He believes that by 2029, the technology will have a measurable impact on IBM's top line and bottom line.
In an interview with CNBC, Krishna stated that he thinks quantum computing will reach $1 trillion in value by the end of the 2030s.
IBM has been investing heavily in quantum computing, unveiling two new hubs for developing artificial intelligence and quantum computing projects. The company also received nearly half of a $2.013 billion federal incentive package from the U.S. Department of Commerce to support quantum computing efforts.
Krishna cited a recent research project with startup Algorithmiq that demonstrated 'quantum advantage,' where a quantum computer provided trusted solutions more efficiently, cheaply, or accurately than leading classical compute methods.
