IBM Consulting Taps Harish Bharti as APAC CTO

Harish Bharti has been promoted to chief technology officer (CTO) for Asia Pacific at IBM Consulting, a significant elevation in his career. He was previously distinguished engineer and master inventor at IBM, where he also handled the responsibilities of CTO for core systems modernisation.

Bharti's association with IBM dates back to June 2002 when he joined as an IBM certified senior IT architect. For over 12 years, he served as industry lead architect for consumer goods before becoming distinguished engineer & master inventor in March 2013.

In July 2015, he was elevated to chief architect of the global solutioning centre of excellence and based out of Pune for five years, creating complex solutions addressing client business requirements with information technology. Since April 2021, he has been serving as CTO for core systems modernisation in addition to his distinguished engineer role.

Bharti sees this new elevation as 'a real privilege' and is eager to take on additional responsibilities in the Asia Pacific region, where clients are not just adopting AI but also rethinking how they operate it at a large scale. He aims to help teams build agentic AI that holds up in production.
