IBM Reenters Visakhapatnam After Six-Year Absence, Unveils Client Innovation Centre
IBM has returned to Visakhapatnam after six years, marking a significant development in the IT sector. The company's 'Client Innovation Centre' was inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh on Wednesday.
Lokesh presided over the foundation stone laying ceremony of P V Sindhu Centre for Sports Excellence before attending the IBM event. Prior to its return, IBM had left Visakhapatnam during the YSRCP regime due to pending incentives and concessions from the previous government.
The company has leased office space in the Lansum Square building in Isukathota area and commenced operations two months ago. IBM is also playing a key role in the 'Quantum Valley' project being established in Amaravati.
