IBM Stock Rallies on Self-Hosted Bob AI Deployment Capability

International Business Machines (IBM) stock surged 3.9% in pre-market trading after the company introduced a self-hosted deployment capability for its Bob agentic AI software development platform.

This move allows enterprises to run AI-driven software development and modernization workflows within their own controlled infrastructure, including on-premises, private-cloud, sovereign-cloud, and air-gapped environments.

The launch targets a large segment of the enterprise market that has been unable to adopt cloud-native AI development tools due to strict data residency, compliance, and security requirements.

IBM's GM of AI and Automation, Neel Sundaresan, stated that 'the future of enterprise AI will depend on security, governance and sovereignty.'

The company also benefited from Accenture's strong quarterly results and guidance, with shares rising 16%.
