IE Lives On: Microsoft Extends Support for Internet Explorer Until 2029

Microsoft has decided to extend its support for Internet Explorer (IE) until at least 2029, giving organizations more time to migrate their legacy applications and websites.

This move is not a surprise, as Microsoft first announced this timeline in 2021. However, it's worth noting that the consumer version of IE was retired for most Windows users back in 2022.

IE mode inside Microsoft Edge will continue to support Trident, the rendering engine used by Internet Explorer, allowing companies to run their legacy applications without having to switch to a new browser.
