A new season of 'The Imagineering Story' is coming to Disney+, and it will be a thrilling ride. The documentary series, which explores the creative process behind Walt Disney's most iconic theme park attractions, has been renewed for a second season. According to Disney Parks Blog, filmmaker Leslie Iwerks will return to direct the new episodes, which are expected to premiere in 2028.
The Imagineering Story has already given audiences a rare look at the creativity and determination that goes into building Disney Experiences. Now, the next chapter will follow Imagineers as they help shape one of the most ambitious periods in Disney's history. With unprecedented behind-the-scenes access, Leslie Iwerks will take viewers on a journey to see what Imagineers are building and how they think.
Leslie's grandfather, Ub Iwerks, was a Disney Legend who helped shape the earliest days of Disney animation. Her father, Don Iwerks, spent decades pushing the boundaries of technology and innovation. Growing up surrounded by Imagineers left a lasting impression on Leslie, who told the crowd at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event that she 'was really raised by Imagineers.'
