Indian Organisations Hit Hard by Cyber Attacks, with Over 90% Suffering Material Incidents
Nearly all Indian organisations have experienced at least one material cyber incident in the past year, according to Cisco's Relentless Defense Report. The report surveyed 8,000 security professionals across 30 markets, including 1,000 from India, and found that 96% of Indian companies suffered a business-disrupting cyber incident.
More than one-third of these incidents involved AI-enhanced attacks, highlighting the growing role of artificial intelligence in the cyber threat landscape. The report also noted that internal organisational problems are a major challenge for cybersecurity teams in India.
The average cybersecurity score for Indian organisations was 66 out of 100, slightly above the global average of 64. However, only 8% of Indian companies qualified for the best-performing category, matching the global figure.
