IndiGo Axes 787-9 Fleet Amid A350 Delivery Push
InterGlobe Aviation Ltd, the parent company of Indian carrier IndiGo, has announced that it will halt operations of its Boeing 787-9 aircraft by late October. The decision is part of a larger fleet optimization effort as the airline prepares to take delivery of new Airbus A350s.
The 787-9s will be replaced on several routes, including London Heathrow, which will remain suspended until the A350s arrive. Mumbai-Amsterdam flights will also be operated by Airbus A321XLR aircraft instead.
In a separate incident, InterGlobe Aviation's booking and web check-in systems suffered an outage in four cities, leaving passengers unable to book or check in for their flights. Users reported 'no data' messages, login failures, and payment issues on social media.
