IonQ is partnering with Nvidia to deploy its Superion 256 quantum computer at the Accelerated Quantum Research Center in Boston. The installation of the system, which contains a fully integrated 256-qubit QPU fabricated by SkyWater, is scheduled for 2027.

The Superion 256 will be directly linked with an Nvidia GB200 NVL72 system via Nvidia's NVQLink networking technology. This collaboration will support joint research on hybrid software development, large-scale system prototyping, and quantum algorithms portfolio optimization in various fields, including financial services, materials science, and computational chemistry.

Niccolo de Masi, IonQ chairman and CEO, stated that this deployment will lead to the creation of developments allowing partners to benefit from their scalable architecture and robust manufacturability. Timothy Costa, Nvidia's vice president and general manager for quantum, emphasized that every supercomputer will become a quantum supercomputer.
