Irish Open Dates Locked In as K Club and Dún Laoghaire Take Centre Stage

The dates and venues for Ireland's two major professional golf opens are now confirmed for 2027. The Amgen Irish Open will return to The K Club from July 1st to 4th, significantly earlier than its recent September position in the DP World Tour calendar.

This change comes in a year when the Ryder Cup will also be staged in Ireland, at Adare Manor from September 17th to 19th. The move places the Irish Open at the beginning of the DP World Tour's Closing Swing for one season and creates an intriguing run of tournaments for leading European players.

The Genesis Scottish Open follows at The Renaissance Club from July 8th to 11th, before the 155th Open Championship is staged at St Andrews, with championship play from July 15th to 18th. This positioning could help attract a strong international field to Kildare, with players already in Europe and preparing for the final men's Major Championship of the season.

The K Club last hosted the Amgen Irish Open in 2025 when Rory McIlroy won the title, while Shane Lowry will arrive as defending champion following his victory at Doonbeg in September 2026. It will form part of an extraordinary year for Irish golf, culminating in the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor.
