IronPigs Rout RailRiders Behind Pham's Grand Slam
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs handed the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders their first loss in several games, scoring 13 unanswered runs on August 14th at Coca-Cola Park.
Anthony Volpe started the scoring for SWB with a solo homer in the third inning, but it was all 'Pigs after that. Carter Kieboom tied the game when he scored on a wild pitch, and Robert Moore gave the IronPigs the lead later in the frame with a two-run homer.
The IronPigs used the long ball to blow the game open as Tommy Pham belted a grand slam in the sixth inning and Kieboom popped a solo homer to begin the seventh. Later in the seventh, Pham singled home two more runs on a Steward Berroa sacrifice fly and Keaton Anthony RBI single made it 12-1.
Brian Keller earned the win for the IronPigs with one run allowed over five frames. Adam Kloffenstein took the loss for SWB, allowing three runs in 4.2 innings.
