JNJ Surges on Positive Trial Results, Asset Sale Talks
Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) shares have continued their upward momentum, gaining around 1.6% over the past week to reach $274.37.
This advance is largely driven by positive corporate news, including upbeat results from its Phase 3 Caplyta trial for bipolar I disorder and discussions surrounding a potential sale of its DePuy Synthes unit for up to $20 billion.
According to CFO Joe Wolk, JNJ anticipates growth above previous long-term guidance, with ongoing buybacks, product launches, free cash flow targets, and recent legal resolutions all reinforcing its defensive profile and dividend support.
However, the stock's overbought conditions suggest consolidation risk remains in focus, with immediate support sitting at $273.59 and the Ichimoku Kijun at $269.86 offering additional backing if price softens.
