John Ternus Takes Reins at Apple Amid AI Strategy Hopes
Apple's shares rose 2.6% on Tuesday as John Ternus officially took over as CEO, succeeding Tim Cook.
Ternus joined Apple in 2001 and most recently served as senior vice president of hardware engineering.
He played a key role in the development of several key Apple products, including the iPad, Mac, AirPods, and Apple Vision Pro.
Cook became CEO in August 2011 and officially moved into the role of executive chairman on September 1.
