Jordan Fisher to Host Radio Disney Music Awards
Jordan Fisher is set to host this year's Radio Disney Music Awards. The actor and singer has been tapped for the role after making a recent appearance on Broadway in the hit show 'Hamilton.' Fisher took over the roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton last November, participating in the Hamilton Education program that gives students an opportunity to see the show and chat with the actors about what they've learned.
In addition to his hosting duties, Fisher will also be performing at the event. He's a nominee in 'The Freshest, Best New Artist' category. Fisher has been part of the Radio Disney family for some time now, feeling like he's a big part of it. They were the first station to ever play his music before he was signed.
Fisher has been acting for 13 years, appearing on kid-favorite shows like 'iCarly,' 'Liv and Maddie,' and 'The Thundermans.' He was also touted as the breakout star of the recently televised production 'Grease: Live.' Fisher teamed up with Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda to create a music video for 'You're Welcome' from Disney's film 'Moana.'
Fisher has been tapped to sing Disney World's brand new 'Happily Ever After' theme song, which will be featured in the park's new fireworks display. 'I'm one of the lead vocalists on it,' he said.
