JPMorgan Chase Invests Big in SF Housing Market
JPMorgan Chase has made an unexpected foray into San Francisco's housing market. The bank is partnering with a local development company, Mission Bay Holdings, to build a new residential complex.
The project will consist of two buildings, one 11-story and the other 13-story, which will contain a total of 340 apartments. JPMorgan Chase has invested $300 million in the venture.
The bank's interest in this project is reportedly driven by its desire to provide affordable housing for its employees and other San Francisco residents. Mission Bay Holdings' CEO, Randy Swartz, stated that 'we're thrilled to have JP Morgan as a partner on this project... we think it will help bring more affordable housing to the community.'
