JPMorgan Chase Sees Strong Third-Quarter Growth Despite Seasonal Decline

JPMorgan Chase shares saw a 1% surge on Tuesday following an upbeat revenue forecast by Co-President Doug Petno at a Barclays conference. The bank expects third-quarter investment banking fees and markets revenue to rise in the mid-to-high teens, marking a significant contrast to Bank of America's earlier warning that its trading revenue would be relatively flat compared to last year.

Petno attributed the forecasted growth to broad-based strength across all products and geographies. He emphasized that management sees a robust investment banking pipeline continuing into the quarter, building on a strong start this month.

The co-president noted that while revenues would reflect a seasonal sequential decline relative to the second quarter, which was a record for the bank, the third-quarter outlook remains strong for both markets and banking. Petno described it as 'a very strong quarter' despite the expected decline.
