JPMorgan Chase stock has surged to near its 52-week high, driven by robust Q1 2026 earnings. The bank's net income for the quarter was $16.5 billion, with earnings per share of $5.94 and a return on tangible common equity (ROTCE) of 23 percent.

The revenue generated in Q1 2026 was $50.5 billion, up 10 percent year-on-year, due to higher markets revenue, stronger asset management and investment banking fees, and higher net interest income from balance sheet growth offset partly by lower rates.

Despite the strong earnings, JPMorgan Chase's standardized CET1 capital ratio decreased by 30 basis points in Q1 2026, highlighting the interplay between capital returns, client activity, and regulatory capital requirements.
