JPMorgan Chase has joined Nvidia's Open Agent-Safety Project, an open-source collaboration aimed at developing controls for artificial intelligence (AI) agents. Shares of JPMorgan Chase dipped by approximately 0.1% to $334.75 on Wednesday following the announcement.

The project focuses on setting boundaries for AI agents to prevent them from taking on sensitive work without firm limits. OpenShell and Sentry are two tools being developed within this collaboration, which can quarantine an agent if it steps outside its designated boundaries.

JPMorgan Chase is working alongside Citi on shared safety technologies, but the scope of their project remains undisclosed. The tools address a practical hurdle: giving agents useful permissions while keeping their actions under control.
