JPMorgan Trims McDonald's Price Target Amid 'McDonald's Next' Reinvestment Roadmap
JPMorgan has lowered its price target on McDonald's stock to $260 from $280 while maintaining an Overweight rating. This move follows the company's Analyst Day presentation, which outlined a four-year reinvestment roadmap covering 2027 through 2030.
The plan, dubbed 'McDonald's Next,' aims to achieve approximately 250 basis points of gross restaurant-level efficiency improvements by 2030. McDonald's also targets gaining 1.5 market share points each in chicken and beverages by the same year.
Operating margins are projected to be in the low-to-mid 50% range, compared to 47.5% posted in fiscal 2025. The company has committed around $8.5 billion in contributions to franchisees through 2036, with roughly 60% allocated by 2030.
Notably, restaurant development is expected to decline through 2030, but McDonald's aims to improve gross annual restaurant cash flow per location by approximately $100,000.
