JPMorgan's Dimon Leads Industry Effort on AI Security Risks
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon is leading an effort to broaden an industry coalition focused on artificial intelligence risks. He has personally contacted major banks, regional lenders and information technology companies to join an expanded version of the Alliance for Critical Infrastructure (ACI). The ACI initiative aims to build a common understanding of AI deployment, identify associated risks, and develop safeguards.
The outreach began in July and has covered over 40 companies across various sectors. Discussions are also being organised for August as the ACI engages potential members on future collaboration. The push comes amid growing concerns over cyber threats, including recent attacks targeting water systems in Minnesota and other US states.
Dimon described himself as 'a support cast member' and credited ACI Executive Chairman Tom Fanning with establishing the organisation. He said the group would work with the government by offering advice and receiving guidance.
