Microsoft's stock has been on a tear in recent months, surging 24.6% in July due to strong growth in its Azure business and blowout earnings.

CFO Satya Nadella dismissed concerns about AI overcapacity, stating that the company's spending is flexible.

Analysts remain overwhelmingly bullish on Microsoft, with many expecting a new price target.

However, BTIG Technology Strategist Dan Krinsky warned that this rally bears a striking resemblance to the peak of the 2000 bubble and may stall at the 50-day moving average.

Krinsky believes that investors are essentially playing 'musical chairs' with existing capital rather than investing in new opportunities.
